Service Desk Analyst

Location

Hybrid, with a minimum of 3 days per week at our head office in Weedon Bec, Northamptonshire. 

Hours

37.5 hours per week.

Support cover currently works on a shift-based system providing cover from the office between 7am and 8pm, Mon-Fri.
Travel to customer locations may be required on occasion.

Role Summary

The Service Desk Analyst role provides a front-line service to customers to deliver IT support within the managed services team.


The role is very customer service focused, requiring the ability to empathise with customers and support colleagues. As a Service Desk Analyst, you will provide a high level of technical support across the business and customer base working as part of a skilled team within a structured service desk.


You will provide day to day frontline IT support up to 2nd line for end users providing first contact fix where possible.

What we need from you

Experience  

The ideal candidate will have experience working for an IT Managed Service Provider or in busy service desk environment as part of their most recent role.

  

Core Knowledge

You must be able to deliver the following technologies: 

  • Microsoft Client Systems Windows 7 – 11.

  • Microsoft Office 365 Administration.

  • Desktop/Laptop hardware knowledge.

  • Basic networking/Wi-fi knowledge - Fortinet/Cisco/Aruba/Cambium/HP.

  • Windows Server Administration (AD, DNS, GPO, etc.).

  • A good grasp of best practices in IT and an understanding and respect for ITIL principles and change control.

  

Desirable Knowledge and Technical Certifications 
  • VOIP/SIP Experience – Teams Voice or Gamma.

  • Microsoft qualifications such as AZ-900 or MS-900.

  • Working knowledge of Veeam and/or Asigra.

  • Anti-virus solutions such as Symantec/Trend/Sophos/Bitdefender/Microsoft Defender/ESET.

  • Working knowledge of Citrix CVAD.

  • PowerShell scripting.
