Logistics & Installation Specialist

Location

This is a role based out of our current Head Office close to Northampton and the successful applicant must be within commutable distance to this office and Swan Valley, Northampton which is approximately 10 minutes away.


The role will require travel to customer sites, which may sometimes include overnight stays to support project delivery.

Hours

37.5 hours per week.

Role Summary

HybrIT are seeking a team member to join our growing logistics operation which covers the warehouse, deliveries, installations, build centre and general facilities. This is a hands-on, varied role across supporting the wider IT business in several areas ranging from goods in and out, stock and warehouse management through to project work which covers installations of IT equipment and cabling or the staging of equipment prior to delivery. The Team also supports the wider business with general day to day facilities and maintenance activities.


The successful candidate will work closely with the Facilities Manager and wider team and is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, with practical hands on problem-solving, and being part of a collaborative, fast-paced environment and contributing to the overall success of the business.


The role covers the following summary points.


Logistics

  • Support inventory management and stock control for sales and project activities.

  • Assist with courier processes including booking deliveries, preparing labels and documentation, and coordinating shipments.

  • Help manage inbound and outbound goods, including packaging, labelling, dispatch, and internal communications.

  • Performing Deliveries to customers for bespoke requirements in company van.

  • Contribute to improving warehouse and logistics processes and systems.


Installation & Projects

  • Staging of IT equipment prior to installation such as laptops, network equipment and AV solutions

  • Perform on site installations such as video conferencing systems, laptop deployments, and more.

  • Assist with Datacentre equipment moves and removals

  • Assist with installation of network cabling Cat6 & fibre, cabinets patching.

  • Support project logistics, ensuring equipment and materials are prepared and available on time.

 

Facilities

  • Support the day-to-day running of facilities across the business.

  • Assist with general maintenance tasks and coordination of on-site works.

  • Monitor and help maintain compliance with business and ISO standards.

  • Provide hands-on support for office moves, equipment setups, and workplace requests.


Experience

The ideal candidate will have core experience working in a Warehouse environment but is also someone who embraces the opportunity to learn and to embrace a new and ever evolving set of opportunities and challenges.  These challenges could span from customer site deliveries and physical installations to mass configuration of ICT devices or simply dealing with onsite issues and needs.  Current employees in these roles have developed a broad spectrum of valuable skills and experience.


Core Knowledge

  • Experience in logistics and warehouse activities.

  • Experience of Van driving and performing deliveries.

  • IT-literate and confident with use of business tools and applications.

  • Knowledge of courier processes.

  • Practical, adaptable, and eager to learn new skills.

  • Confident communicator

  • Enjoys and operates well in a team.

  • Reliable and able to follow procedures accurately.


Desirable Knowledge

  • Experience in following warehouse stock management processes. 

  • Knowledge of import/export documentation, and incoterms (advantageous but not essential).

  • Previous experience of having worked in an ISO9001 and ISO27001 controlled business.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills

  • Keen focus on attention to detail.

  • Willingness to secure facilities certifications as required and necessary for the business.

Certifications

The following certifications would be desirable, and the candidate should be prepared to be on a personal development journey. 


  • A full clear driving license.

  • Certificates in Warehouse Safety, Manual Handling and Fire Safety

  • Base salary £24,000 to £28,000 (depending upon experience)
